The entrance to Saint Rollox House in the Springburn area of Glasgow. Built in 1887 using the classic polychromatic brick style of Glasgow's industrial buildings, it was once the office for the Saint Rollox Railway Works.

Townhouses on Park Circus in the West End of Glasgow. Designed by Charles Wilson, they were built in the 1850s. I love the way blonde sandstone glows golden in the early morning.

Love this polychromatoc brick chimney stack just of Duke Street in the East End of Glasgow. I've got no idea how old it is, but the building it's attached to is home to a glazing business which was founded in the 1840s.

A sculpture of the prow of a boat projecting from the facade of the 1880s Clyde Navigation Trust building on Robertson Street in Glasgow

Luma Tower on Shieldhall Road in Glasgow. Designed by Cornelius Armour in a Steamline Moderne style and built in 1938, it's one of the best preserved Art Deco buildings in the city. It was originally constructed as the Glasgow headquarters of the British Luma Co-operative Electric Lamp Society.

Love this rather wonderful character on the ruins of Cathcart Old Parish Church in Glasgow. The church was built in the 1830s and was replaced by a newer church nearby in the 1920s.

This collection of rather weird and wonderful sculpted heads are carved onto the corbels of decorative arches over the entrances to a series of tenement closes on Killearn Street in the Possilpark area of Glasgow. As far as I know they're unique and I've not come across any simlar ones on other tenements elsewhere in the city (yet!).

The former Saint George's in the Field in the Woodside area of Glasgow. Designed by H and D Barclay in a Greek Temple style, it was built in 1885 and features a pediment sculpture of Christ distributing loaves and fishes by W.B. Rhind.

One thing I love about this image is that this exact shot can't be taken again. Where I was standing when I took the photo is now a second apartment building that complements the one captured. These little yellow 'boxes' pop out at seemingly random spots around the building, definitely catching the eye. Shot in #Calgary, #Alberta

The War Memorial Cottage in Gartcosh just to the east of Glasgow. Designed by Gavin Lennox, it was built as a memorial nurses home, and features two plaques listing the names of local residents who died in World War I (on the left hand gate pillar) and World War II (on the right hand one).

I came across this threshold ghost sign at the entrance to a shop beside Kelvinhall Subway Station in Glasgow. As far as I can work out, it's for an old department store which used to occupy the site.

An abandoned mortuary building in the grounds of the former Gartloch Hospital in the east of Glasgow. Constructed in the 1890s, this simple, but rather elegant, church-like building was designed in a French Renaissance style by Thomson and Sandilands. The hospital closed in 1996, and while a number of its buildings have been converted into housing, this one has, so far, been left to decay.
