Sleepy Monster in a Teacup
Humans aren't the only ones who enjoy a spot of tea now and again. Little monsters have been know to slip quietly into kitchens when no one is around and sneak a sip of two of freshly brewed sweetness. Alas, some of these tiny creatures may become so enamored with the tea, that they sip themselves silly and fall into a state of euphoria, causing all manner of behavior.

Cat Dreams Of course, I'm just guessing... who really knows what cats dream? :-) A cat stands very still, slyly glancing at the tip of its tail, where a hopeful fish has come for a nibble. On the tip of its tail grows a bit of tasty-looking vegetation. Its orange body has seaweed shaped patterns. From the top of the kitties head, branching flowers of green and orange blossom and sway, enticing the unwary to come closer. Monsters have babies too.
Baby monsters are even harder to find than the elusive "baby" pigeon. Very few folks can say that they've seen them, let alone created their portraits. I have been lucky. As you might imagine, monster parents can be a bit protective. Mothers in particular. They consider us (humans) more than a bit strange and potentially dangerous. It took most of my free time, lots of monster "treats" and carefully followed Monster Etiquette to befriend just a few of them. Even then, I felt a bit nervous and on edge as I made sketches of their most beloved offspring. It is always a good idea to remind oneself that monsters are ultimately unpredictable creatures, and should be given proper respect at all times.

One teeny, solitary baby stands precariously on Moms scaly leg.

Monsters have babies too. Baby monsters are even harder to find than the elusive "baby" pigeon. Very few folks can say that they've seen them, let alone created their portraits. I have been lucky. Against a brilliant blue sky, with just a hint of mountains in the distance, a teeny baby monster trembles with uncertainty on its mothers scaly leg, grasping her long sharp claw for balance. It nervously stares (at me) with large bulging eyes, while the other hand is clamped firmly in its mouth. Bright scales of chartreuse, vivid orange and crimson red cover the body of this wee creature, accompanied by slender candy-cane-like curved horns atop its bald green head. I find it endearingly adorable. NOTE: This description created especially for my lovely blind friend, Georgiana. :-)
