millerebondsLe houx (Ilex aquifolium) est un cousin du maté (Ilex paraguariensis) et un survivant des glaciations en Europe. Chez nous en Alsace il était utilisé séché, et en liqueur, contre la grippe, etc... Mais avec des propriétés proches du maté, on peut le faire comme le maté : passé à la flamme, longtemps mais pas trop pour pas brûler, puis séché avec les branches vers 60°C. Quand les branches cassent net c'est fini. Je pensais être trop au nord, trop tôt dans la saison, et pourtant, dans un coude du ruisseau, j'ai su trouver ma belle lathrée clandestineLa lathrée est une plante peu ordinaire et étrange, discrète, peut-être que vous ne l'avez jamais vue, ou alors vous vous êtes demandé si c'était une plante exotique, une sorte d'orchidée. Non non ! C'est une plante du sud-ouest et ouest de l'hexagone françaisElle ne produit pas sa propre chlorophylle, d'où l'absence de feuilles et de verdure. On a longtemps pensé qu'elle était carnivore, mais en réalité, c'est une plante délicatement parasite. Elle n'apporte rien directement à l'arbre sur les racines duquel elle va planter ses suçoirs et aspirer des nutriments, mais elle ne lui nuit pas non plus.Elle pousse dans les sous-bois en bord de fleuve, de ruisseau ou de rivière, et fleurit en mars pour disperser ses graines grâce aux insectes et au courant de l'eau. La ficaire est une des rares comestibles dans une famille folle bourrée de plantes toxiques et mortelles. Mais à une condition: doit être mangée en janvier février. Dès que c'est âcre, c'est toxique, quand le goût est doux, c'est comestible. Riche en vitamine C d'ailleurs.
