#Venus and the Triply Ultraviolet Sun
In 2012, Venus eclipsed the Sun, creating a rare Venusian annular #eclipse. As Venus aligned with the Sun, it appeared as a dark spot moving across our star. Captured in ultraviolet by the Solar Dynamics Observatory, this event won't recur until 2117.

Tololo Totality
On Pi day, March 14, the Full #Moon underwent a total #lunar #eclipse, passing through #Earth's shadow. A composite image from Chile shows the eclipse phases with vivid colors and a bluish tint from ozone-filtered sunlight at the edge.

Here are the 4 well-known images of solar eclipses seen from the moon or from space:

It was too cloudy for me to see the eclipse, so I made my own.
#PPOD: Blue Ghost got her first diamond ring! The photo, taken at their landing site in the Moon’s Mare Crisium around 3:30 a.m. CDT on 14 March 2025, shows the Sun about to emerge from totality behind Earth. This marks the first time in history that a commercial company was actively operating on the Moon and able to observe a total solar #eclipse. This phenomenon occurred simultaneously with the lunar eclipse we witnessed on Earth. Credit: Firefly Aerospace

The Creature hopes everyone who could saw the #LunarEclipse tonight~~
Few stages of the lunar eclipse through cloud cover. Before reaching totality the clouds completely closed in, but it was fun to watch.

One long exposure for cloud motion blurring, one medium exposure for the redness of the eclipse, and one short exposure for the details of the bright crescent.

Really wanted to get the best focus I could, so went back out front and tried again. I think this one's a little better. It's a lot of digital zooming, though, so it's never going to be super sharp.
Meanwhile, the javelina squadron, as they are called, is back to tearing up the neighbor's trash they left out. Arizona trash pandas.
